Hanif is a London based structural engineer. Since co-founding Adams Kara
Taylor practice his particular ‘design-led’ approach and interest in innovative form, material uses, prefabrication, sustainable construction and complex analysis methods have allowed him to work on award winning and unique projects.
His approach extends beyond the structural engineering disciplines and led to his appointment as a commissioner for CABE (Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment). Hanif was selected for the Master Jury for the 2004 cycle of the Aga
Khan Awards for Architecture and was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects the same year.
His work is linked with the Research and Education areas of design. He co-tutored a Diploma Unit at the Architectural Association in London from 2000 to 2004. In 2008 he accepted a position as the visiting Pierce Anderson Lecturer in Creative Engineering at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard and is visiting Professor of Architectural Technology at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH),
