Introduction

High quality migration and population statistics are essential in the planning and development of housing and public services. New figures from the ONS show net immigration in the UK to have increased by 46,000 last year. Increased immigration is the key contributing factor to current population growth and apparently set to continue to rise.

What if this doesn’t happen? Economic collapse has brought into question once thought sound notions of growth. What will be the new national or European trends in movement? Who is moving out of the UK? Where are they going and from where?

BY 2029:

What areas of the UK will suffer as a result of 2009’s market failure?

What impact will it have on sectors of the economy in particularly the housing market?

Can we champion non growth, but maintain stability?

Will we need to predict at all?
